I made this stencil for a friends speaker box, but he blew out the speakers then got rid of the truck. Now the box is instead a coffee table. Which is bad ass!

Finally finished. I added some highlights that really helped him not disappear into the background. And added some finishing details to the ground. Lastly I sprayed a few light layers of clear gloss acrylic over the whole thing, lightly sanding between layers to keep from having the weird fuzzy build up from overspray.
I was scraping the bottom of the paint bucket for this one. Using paints from when I was in school several years ago. I’m not a huge fan of acrylics, but I didn’t have time for oils to dry. I really need this to sell so I can get some more paints.
Do better quality acrylic paints still dry so dull? These were pretty lousy; student grade and below. They took a lot of work to make them look right.

The owner never lets me pay for drinks there. If you are close, go to Common Grounds, check out the local artists’ work, and enjoy a cup of joe. The deli items are AMAZING also. It makes for a great lunch!
WIP “Chester”
Having trouble getting the octopus to pop out. This is way too flat. (i’ve repainted him a few times.)
Took me a while to make this stencil, but this background turned out exactly how I wanted it to. That doesn’t always happen with my art.
